Dr. Lucia Hue-Fontaine, a physician practicing in France, came to The Wells Clinic Jamsil in Seoul. Dr. Kim Joomin walked her through the consultation and procedure rooms, and the two spent most of the afternoon talking.

Dr. Lucia trained in endocrinology and metabolism. She has spent years treating hormonal disorders, diabetes, and thyroid disease. More recently she has extended her practice into nutrition, anti-aging, and longevity.

She lectures widely. This year she presented "Oxidative stress: the first invisible layer of aging" at IMCAS World Congress. At IMCAS Asia she chaired a session on aging and hormones in women and lectured on GLP-1 and aging. She is listed as a speaker at the French society of aesthetic medicine (SFME) this September. The Global Longevity Federation introduces her as a physician, researcher, and educator.

Her training runs wide as well. She has completed further coursework in endocrine tumors, cervical ultrasound, and dermatology and lasers, along with Medical Neuroscience at Duke University and Health Effects of Climate Change at Harvard.

How she got here is the unexpected part. Looking for Korean clinics practicing wellness medicine, she found The Wells through an AI search. Then she came to Jamsil in person.

The two physicians touring the clinic

Different countries, the same patients

The overlap surfaced early in the conversation.

These patients have been through several departments. Every test came back normal. Yet the fatigue does not lift. Sleep stays shallow. The mind stays foggy. Because no single diagnosis fits, no department follows it to the end.

At The Wells Jamsil these patients are assessed across hormones, the autonomic nervous system, metabolism, and body structure. That is why menopausal symptoms are worked through hormones, nerves, and metabolism together rather than suppressed one by one. It is also why headache and dizziness are checked alongside the upper cervical spine and the jaw joint.

Dr. Lucia reaches the same patients from endocrinology, nutrition, and aging. Her framework is called LHF, or Life Healthy Focus: rather than treating disease once it appears, it measures living environment, nutrition, and stress together and works to raise health from there.

The door each of them walks through differs. Where they end up is the same room.

Explaining clinical methods in front of a nervous system chart

What they actually discussed

An autonomic nervous system chart hangs on the consultation room wall. Standing in front of it, Dr. Kim explained how the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches reach into pain, sleep, and digestion. A myofascial trigger point chart hangs beside it. That a clinic treats neurology and pain together is written on its walls.

Dr. Lucia said that in Europe she does not read hormone levels alone when a menopausal patient comes in. She measures nutritional status, sleep, and stress first, then sets the order of treatment. She also described when regenerative and anti-aging work enters the sequence, and what patients arrive expecting.

The two physicians sharing their respective programs

Treatments that carry the same name were used differently in each country. Patients knocked on the door for different reasons. Mapping those differences was the point of the visit, and the conversation turned to how the two countries might carry each other's experience forward.

The next question for medicine

Medicine has long asked how to treat disease. A second question now follows it. How do we help people live healthier and longer?

Wellness medicine carries that question. It is not a field with settled answers. Each country works differently. That is what makes standing in another country's consultation room worth the trip.

We hope an afternoon in Seoul grows into a wider exchange.

Thank you, Dr. Lucia Hue-Fontaine, for visiting The Wells Jamsil, Seoul.
